Shipping Policy

Shipping Time -- Lead time is for production of goods exclusive of shipping.  We ship white glove, blanket wrap offering full service delivery.  Most shippers take 10-20 business days; we can not control the shipping process once the furniture is picked up by the carrier.  Delays may include weather, remote locations or transfers to last mile delivery service.

Shipping prices are generated automatically, but may not apply to remote or difficult to access areas (NY).   Additional charges may apply; you will be notified of any additional freight charged by the shipper for your approval.

We cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. Consider any shipping or transit time offered to you by Mortise & Tenon or other parties only as an estimate. We encourage you to order in a timely fashion to avoid delays caused by shipping or product availability.

Free Shipping -- Please note 'Free Shipping' applies only to "ship to" addresses within the continental United States. Mortise & Tenon reserves the right to add shipping to an invoice at any time. 



We will gladly accept the return of products that are defective due to defects in manufacturing and/or workmanship for 30 days from the date of purchase. Fulfillment mistakes that we make resulting in the shipment of incorrect product to you will also be accepted for return 30 days from the date of purchase.

"Floor Model"  are final sales and may not be returned or refunded.  Items may have small surface scratches or dings  

Custom orders are not refundable.

Damaged items must be noted at time of delivery with shipper and rejected at time of delivery or separate pick up charge may apply for return.

All the vendors we represent on our site have been featured at one of our retail furniture stores and make top quality product; however, if for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase, we are happy to offer a refund, credit or exchange within 15 days of receipt of product that is shipped Fed Ex or UPS.  Simply email or call us within 15 days of receipt to be given a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number.  No return can be accepted without an RMA.  Once the product has been inspected by Mortise & Tenon, and deemed in original resalable condition, the return or exchange will be processedimmediately.  You can expect to see your refund credit within 5 business days.  Customers are responsible for return shipping fee as well as a 20% restocking fee, and we strongly urge having the shipment insured.  All items must be shipped back in the original packaging materials.  Credits cannot be issued for returned product that is damaged.

 We offer free shipping on several of our items.  If for any reason you need to return an item with free shipping, the refund you receive will be for the item price minus standard shipping costs.  If you opt to exchange your free shipping purchase for another item that also had free shipping, a standard shipping charge will be added to cover our costs. FREE SHIPPING to the continental U.S. Only. Alaska & Hawaii Not Included. Shipping fees may be added when shipping outside the continental United States. 

 All White Glove Delivery Items can be returned within 7 days of receipt of goods. Simply email to be given a return merchandise authorization (RMA )Number and instructions for returning the item.  A 25% restocking fee will be applied plus freight charges both ways. No return can be accepted without an RMA. 

 All  items must be returned in their original, unworn an unused condition enclosed in the original packaging for refund or exchange.  With furniture purchases, (White Glove Delivery) in the event you have instructed the shipping company to remove packaging debris when furniture has been delivered, a repackaging fee will be incurred in order to safely return the item.  You may also request to keep original packaging materials to avoid any repackaging fees at time of delivery.  Packaging material must be kept intact in order to reuse.

 Once the product has been inspected, by Mortise & Tenon and/or manufacturer and deemed in original, resalable condition,  free from dirt and debris, (including pet dander and stains) the return or exchange will be processed immediately.  You can expect to see your refund credit within 5 business days.  Customers are responsible for return shipping fees, 20% restocking charge and if applicable for furniture, repackaging charges. You must have your return shipments insured.  All items must be shipped in the original packaging materials.  Credits cannot be issued for returned product that is damaged.  In the event an item is returned in a condition where it cannot be resold, the order will be sent back to you and additional shipping charges will apply.

 Refusal of a shipment, without notifying the shipper and Mortise & Tenon, will incur a 20% restocking fee plus shipping charges both ways.

All monitors and smart devices display colors slightly differently pertaining to fabrics and finishes.   We strongly recommend ordering a swatch or sample for a better representation.  Fabric cuttings are complimentary and wood finishes are $25.each.  $50 will  be credited back if an order is placed for one of our furniture designs once the samples are returned.
