Hello my fellow designers and home decor addicts. =) My name is Kristen and I am a new Design Consultant here at Mortise & Tenon. I will be blogging from time to time regarding current trends, finds and obsessions.
Speaking of all three, I am loving the character people are displaying through their lighting! I've taken, lately, to buffet and bistro lamps.

A few custom reclaimed wood tables we built for clients last month
Seems like we never make the same dining table twice. Every one of our custom
table clients has a unique request but the one thing each table has in common is
that it is built in reclaimed wood that has been salvaged from old homes throughout Los Angeles.
Our newest addition to the store, the Urban desk is built with a reclaimed lumber top and distressed metal legs.
This table is now hanging out in Laguna Beach, not a bad life watching the waves shimmer in the evening moon light.
One of our Mortise & Tenon classic, the Giuseppe trestle dining table in a glaze finish.
Years back, I think we built one of these that was 16ft long. The delivery guys weren't very happy.
I'm always amazed at the never ending possibility of designing something unique.
The postibello coffee table in a linseed oil finish. We build these with non-toxic water based glue and with the recycled wood it makes this a very green piece of furniture.
Trestle dining tables are super popular in L.A., since there are so many Spanish colonial style homes.
The other style that has made a huge comeback for us are painted finishes. Kind of a cross between Shabby Chic and urban grunge ( I don't really know if that's a style but sounds like it could catch on).
We are building 24 Urban dining tables for a bistro/boutique hotel in Laguna Beach.
The theme is Eco Chic and these tables will fit in perfectly.
Thanks for the visit- Jerod
